New parish in Virginia

St David’s Anglican Church, Charlottesville, VA was received in the UECNA following a near unanimous vote to affiliate.  St David’s was established almost 30 years ago to serve Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and surrounding areas, and is a growing congregation which has recently paid off its mortgage.

The Most Rev. Peter D. Robinson dedicated Grace Anglican Church, Wildwood, FL, which also serves The Villages.  This is a new mission, which started last May, and is looking forward to an growing ministry in the Wildwood/The Villages area.

New parish in New York

The Presiding Bishop would like to welcome St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Williamsville, NY and their rector, the Rev. Paul Slish into the UECNA.  They have been accepted into the Diocese of the Great Lakes under Bishop Hustwick.  We would also like to welcome the Rev. Dcn. Philip Cunningham, also in the Buffalo area, unto the UECNA-DGL.

Bishop Robinson visited Amazing Grace Anglican Church in Bessemer City, NC, where he preached and celebrated the Eucharist.  There is a small and faithful congregation there drawn from Bessemer City, Gastonia, and the surrounding area led by the Rev. Abbot John Kennedy, OSSP.

Archbishop Peter Robinson preached and pontificated at Christ the King, Linwood, NC, during his visitation to the parish.

Also on March 22nd, the Rt. Rev. Steven Murrell, Assistant Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of the East visited St John’s Anglican Church, St Mary’s Co., MD where he preached and presided.

Episcopal visit in North Carolina

The Presiding Bishop officiated and preached at Morning Prayer at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Barracks Road, Hillsborough, NC.  This was his first visit to the parish since the retirement of Bishop Stephen Reber who had been the Rector of All Saints’ since 1994.  Bishop Robinson was assisted by the Rev. Paul Kelly and the Rev. Stephen Reeves.

North Carolina parish relocates

Christ the King Anglican Church, Lexington, NC is now holding services in its new location at 4789 Old Linwood Road, Linwood, NC.  Bishop Murrell was present to help the Canon Richard Desroches, and the parish celebrate this significant milestone in its history as it moves into a rented building which it can use full-time as a Church. 

New pastoral appointments in North Carolina and Maryland

The Very Rev. Richard Desroches has been appointed Priest in Charge of Christ the King Anglican Church, Lexington, NC effective immediately.  The letter of appointment was read by the Rev. Canon Keith Bernarducci, the outgoing priest-in-charge of the congregation.

The Rev. Canon Ordice Gallups has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of St John’s Anglican Church, Mechanicsville, MD effective immediately.  He succeeds the Rt. Rev. Joseph H. Dobson, IV, who retired as rector of the parish on March 31st.
