Establishment of the Western Archdeaconry
The Missionary Diocese of the West has been renamed the Western Archdeaconry and attached to the Missionary Diocese of the South and Ozarks. The UECNA House of Bishops determined that this arrangement will provide a greater degree of pastoral and administrative support for congregations in the West. The Western missionary diocese had been without a bishop ordinary for several years.
Ordination of a deacon for the West
The Most Rev. Peter D. Robinson ordained Rick Ball as a deacon on November 5, 2022 at Good Shepherd Anglican Church in Waynesboro, Virginia. The ordination was conducted on behalf of the Rt. Rev. George Conner for the Missionary Diocese of the West. The Rev. Ball will serve at St. Bede’s Anglican Church in Tucson, Arizona.

The Rt. Rev. Steven Murrell ordained Marshall Annis to the presbyterate on October 10, 2021. The new priest is vicar of St. Barnabas in the Pines Anglican Church in Prescott, Arizona.

The standing committee of the Missionary Diocese of the West approved the Rev. H. Marshall Annis of Prescott Valley, Arizona for ordination to the priesthood March 23, 2021.
Clergy retirement
The Rev. Jim Byrum, of St. Bede’s Anglican Church, Tucson, Arizona, retired, effective January 1, 2021.

The Rt. Rev. Steven Murrell, formerly Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of the Great Lakes, was licensed to be Assistant Bishop in the Missionary Diocese of the West.
